Engineer – Project

About the role

The Project Engineer turns concepts into market‑ready products by managing the full product lifecycle—from quoting and design through prototyping, testing, and delivery. This hands‑on position works closely with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure quality, compliance, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain project quotes, recommend contractor awards, and guide contractors to timely completion.
• Develop cost, risk, and return analyses required for project approval.
• Create and modify 2D/3D CAD models for quoting, prototyping, and design iterations.
• Benchmark competitor products and interpret specifications to inform design decisions.
• Conduct material and process research to optimize product function and value.
• Define realistic project parameters, including design elements and implementation procedures.
• Establish testing methods, monitor quality, and ensure compliance across all field tests.
• Maintain project schedules and budgets while coordinating contributions from other engineering departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2–3 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Proven ability to own projects end‑to‑end, delivering on time, on budget, and in compliance with codes and standards.
• Strong analytical skills for consolidating cost, risk, and return data.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (preferred) and AutoCAD (mandatory) for 2D/3D design.
• Microsoft Project or equivalent project‑management software.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems.
• Hands‑on mechanical design and prototyping expertise.
