Elementary Long Term Occasional Kindergarten Teacher

About the role

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified elementary teacher to fill a full‑time Long Term Occasional (LTO) position for Kindergarten. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to student success in a public education environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess Kindergarten curriculum in alignment with board standards.
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and development.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or in the process of becoming qualified before the start date.
• Provide at least three professional teaching references (or two for internal candidates, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator).
• Successful completion of a satisfactory police record check.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Ontario elementary education curriculum and standards.
• Classroom management and instructional planning abilities.
