Electrical Field Service Technician

About the role

Power Precision Electrical Field Services is expanding its team. We are looking for a committed, collaborative professional to join us as an Electrical Field Service Technician. In this role you will install, commission, test, maintain and troubleshoot low‑ and high‑voltage electrical equipment at customer sites across the Atlantic Region.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and commission substation equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers, HV switches and instrument transformers.
• Perform distribution equipment testing, including breaker and relay testing, and execute LV breaker repairs and refurbishments.
• Read and interpret AC & DC schematics, three‑line diagrams and apply CEC, IEEE and NETA standards.
• Provide emergency service on short notice and travel to out‑of‑town projects as required.
• Document test results, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and manage job‑by‑job paperwork.

Required profile

• Electrician licence (Construction Electrician) or Electrical Technologist diploma.
• 2‑3 years of field experience with power and distribution equipment.
• Ability to travel within the Atlantic Region and hold a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Strong problem‑solving, teamwork and customer‑focus orientation.

Required skills

• Power transformers, circuit breakers, HV switches, instrument transformers.
• Breaker testing, relay testing, LV & MV relay testing.
• Interpretation of electrical schematics and three‑line diagrams.
• Knowledge of CEC, IEEE and NETA standards.
• LV breaker repair and refurbishment.
• Construction scheduling, planning and execution.
