Education Assistant (Temporary Part‑Time)

About the role

The Rocky Mountain School District No. 6 is seeking a Certified Education Assistant to support students with diverse abilities on a temporary, part‑time basis (27 hours per week) from September 8 2026 to June 30 2027. Working under the supervision of a teacher or principal, you will help deliver inclusive instruction and individualized support.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Individual Educational Planning, team meetings, parent meetings, and open houses as needed.
• Follow student safety plans and provide behavior‑management, instructional, and record‑keeping support.
• Assist in adapting classroom materials and support student independence with accommodations.
• Help deliver medical, occupational, physical, and speech therapy services when trained.
• Supervise students on school outings and assist with community work‑experience placements.
• Provide personal care support (toileting, dressing, eating, mobility, communication) as directed by health professionals.
• Utilize assistive technologies, including computers, peripherals, and specialized software.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for all student and staff information.
