Dog Handler – Kennel & Training Specialist

About the role

Ecopest Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dog Handler to work in our Edmonton kennel and training facility. You will care for a variety of dog breeds, support training programs, and ensure a clean, safe environment for both animals and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Bathe, shampoo, and groom dogs of all breeds.
• Prepare and feed animals according to dietary guidelines.
• Clean and disinfect cages, pens, kennels, and related enclosures.
• Supervise helpers and coordinate daily tasks.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 1–2 years of experience in a kennel, dog training school, or similar setting.
• Bondable with clean driving and criminal record checks.
• Physically able to lift up to 13.5 kg, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
• Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and fast‑paced environments.

Required skills

• Pet Grooming Certificate.
• Pet First Aid course.
• Obedience training expertise.
• Canine behavior modification techniques.
• Tracking and discrimination training.
