Director and Portfolio Lead, Faculty of Management

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a senior leader to provide strategic and operational direction for the Faculty of Management. Reporting directly to the Dean, this role partners with the Dean, Associate Deans and the Faculty leadership team to advance the Faculty’s reputation, governance, accreditation readiness and financial stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Faculty’s strategic plan, aligning short‑term actions with long‑term goals.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and resource allocation for the Faculty.
• Coordinate accreditation processes and ensure compliance with external standards.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, Indigenous partners, industry and community stakeholders.
• Supervise BCGEU and M&P staff, providing guidance and performance management.
• Represent the Faculty on university and external committees, acting as delegate for the Associate Dean when required.
• Manage special projects and cross‑portfolio initiatives that enhance the Faculty’s profile.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in higher‑education administration or a comparable senior leadership role.
• Deep understanding of UBC’s campus contexts, policies and academic processes.
• Proven ability to lead strategic planning, governance and budgetary functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships across diverse internal and external groups.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
