DevOps Engineer

About the role

This position is with a partner company that manages all applications and next steps. The DevOps Engineer will be based in Canada and will work at the core of cloud infrastructure, automation, and software delivery, ensuring highly available and secure systems for large‑scale production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines for large‑scale applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to build, deploy, and optimise CI/CD workflows using tools such as Jenkins or similar.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code and automation solutions with CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and telemetry systems (e.g., Datadog, Sumo Logic) to improve observability and incident response.
• Support cloud security initiatives, enforce best practices, and ensure compliance across AWS environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues and work with cross‑functional teams to improve system resilience.
• Design and optimise containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles supporting production‑grade systems.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.).
• Solid background in Linux and Windows environments, supporting Java and .NET applications at scale.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and version control (Git).
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools and scripting languages.
