Design & Manufacturing Engineer – CNC / DFM

About the role

We are looking for a Design & Manufacturing Engineer who can bridge mechanical design and CNC manufacturing in an advanced Canadian manufacturing environment. The position is hybrid, combining CAD work with hands‑on shop‑floor collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacturability.
• Perform Design‑for‑Manufacturing (DFM) analysis and suggest improvements.
• Create fixtures, work‑holding solutions and detailed SolidWorks models.
• Support CAM programming and define machining strategies for CNC milling and turning.
• Collaborate directly with CNC machinists to resolve production challenges.
• Ensure compliance with GD&T standards and tooling requirements.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechanical design using SolidWorks.
• Hands‑on experience with CNC milling, turning and tooling.
• Good understanding of feeds, speeds, GD&T and manufacturability concepts.
• Ability to move projects from CAD through to shop‑floor execution.
