About the role

Athabasca University seeks an experienced academic leader to serve as Dean of the Faculty of Business. The Dean will shape the strategic direction of a globally recognized, fully online business school and champion its mission of accessible, high‑quality education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the Faculty’s academic, research, and operational activities.
• Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the university’s 2024‑29 strategic agenda.
• Maintain AACSB accreditation standards and oversee continuous quality improvement.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen partnerships with industry, community, and research organizations.
• Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance management.
• Enhance the student experience through innovative online and digitally enabled learning environments.

Required profile

• Senior administrative experience in a complex university setting.
• Demonstrated record of academic leadership, scholarship, and research excellence.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the removal of barriers to education.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Strategic planning and implementation.
