Dangerous Goods Truck Driver

About the role

Join a dedicated team transporting hazardous materials across Alberta and beyond. You will operate straight or articulated trucks, ensuring safe delivery of dangerous goods while maintaining high customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Address customer complaints and concerns promptly.
• Load and unload goods, handling heavy loads safely.
• Operate and drive tractor‑trailer B‑train vehicles on provincial, regional and long‑distance routes.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other equipment.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Transport and handle dangerous goods in compliance with TDG regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as bill of lading, driver logbook, incident reports and trip reports.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 3 to 5 years of truck driving experience.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence.
• Air‑brakes endorsement, First Aid, H₂S, TDG and WHMIS certificates.
• Willingness to travel extended periods and overnight.
• Ability to pass criminal record, licence and drug checks.
• Physically capable of handling loads up to 50 lb and performing repetitive tasks.

Required skills

• Operation of CB radio communication systems.
• Use of GPS navigation and on‑board trip recorder equipment.
• Handling of documentation: bill of lading, driver logbook, incident and trip reports.
• Operation of tractor‑trailer B‑train vehicles.
