Warehouse Supervisor - One-Year Contract (Night Shift)

About the role

Martin Brower is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor for a one-year contract at its McDonald's distributorship in New Westminster, British Columbia. The role covers the warehouse department at an assigned distribution centre, overseeing operations, scheduling manpower and equipment for the hourly workforce, monitoring daily dispatch against the master delivery schedule and interpreting the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The shift runs Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, 4:30 pm to 3 am.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily manpower requirements, keeping overtime to a minimum, and assign work duties that meet safety, service and productivity needs
• Run daily shift meetings, communicate safety and operational messages and answer questions
• Create and maintain production and master delivery schedules, including route and restaurant information, and maintain employee bids and statistical records
• Audit weekly payroll entries for warehouse workers and provide training on standard operating procedures
• Oversee quality control of in-house and en-route product and investigate near misses, injuries and collisions
• Ensure compliance with industry, company and sanitation standards, including Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, GFSI and Good Warehouse and Driver Practices
• Review service providers' performance and act as a link between Warehouse, Transportation and Customer Service

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, engineering, logistics or a related field
• Ideally 3 to 5 years in high-volume, food service, unionized distribution or logistics, and 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience
• Leadership, problem-solving, attention to detail, multitasking and time-management abilities
• Post-offer background check required

Required skills

• MS Office
• Knowledge of Syntellic, Paragon and Xatanet is an asset
• Routing and onboard software experience is a strong asset
