Cross-Border Tax Accountant

About the role

Join MNP’s Cross‑Border Individual Tax team as an Accountant, providing tax advice for U.S. and Canadian clients on domestic and foreign assignments. You will help clients stay compliant with complex regulatory requirements while mitigating tax risk.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare U.S. and combined U.S.–Canadian individual income tax returns for U.S. citizens in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada, and Canadians with U.S. investments.
• Assist with cross‑border income tax and estate planning projects.
• Participate in expatriate policy and compensation design and implementation.
• Evaluate business processes, advise on tax policy changes, and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with clients and government agencies to address compliance issues.
• Draft correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with engagement teams and build client relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, preferably with an accounting or finance focus.
• Working towards CPA Professional Education Program prerequisites.
• Previous tax or accounting experience is an asset.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Fluent in written and spoken French and English.
