Course Lecturer – Law for Architects and Engineers (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Office at McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to teach FACC 220 – Law for Architects and Engineers during the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering a three‑credit course to engineering students in a weekly evening lecture.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures on Monday evenings (5:35 pm‑8:25 pm) in ENGMC 304, McConnell Engineering Building.
• Develop course materials, case studies, and assessment tools aligned with the curriculum.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and participation.
• Maintain office hours for student consultation and provide academic guidance.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and the Barreau du Québec professional standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) or equivalent Canadian law degree (J.D. or L.L.B.).
• Successful completion of the 4‑month articling entry course of l’École du Barreau du Québec (or recognized equivalent).
• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec for at least three years.
• Minimum three years of civil law practice in Québec, preferably with experience in construction, professional liability, manufacturer’s liability, or intellectual property matters.
• Prior teaching experience of FACC 220 or other courses recognized by the Barreau du Québec is an asset.
