Course Lecturer for Strategies for Sustainability (SEAD 660)

About the role

The Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED) at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach Strategies for Sustainability (SEAD 660) during the Fall 2026 semester. This part‑time teaching appointment involves delivering weekly lectures, guiding student discussions, and evaluating performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver three‑hour lectures each Friday from August 31 to December 4, 2026.
• Prepare course materials, case studies, and assessment tools aligned with sustainability governance and economic theory.
• Facilitate classroom discussions in English (and optionally French) on sustainability models, market advantages, and regulatory frameworks.
• Assess student work, provide feedback, and assign grades for the 3‑credit course.
• Collaborate with TISED faculty to ensure course objectives meet program standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Management, Commerce, Finance, or a closely related field; additional degree in engineering, architecture, or urban planning is preferred.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level in English and/or French.
• Strong knowledge of sustainability governance models, systems theory, limits of sustainability, and economic theory.
• Experience formulating and implementing sustainable organizational strategies in a business context.
