Course Lecturer for Introduction to Aerospace Design (AERO 520)

About the role

The Institute for Aerospace Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to deliver the Introduction to Aerospace Design (AERO 520) for the Winter 2027 term. The position involves preparing and presenting nine lectures out of a total of thirteen, guiding student design projects, and providing feedback on their work.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nine 2.5‑hour lectures on aerospace‑design topics between January 5 and April 14, 2026.
• Cover subjects such as aircraft sizing, configuration, fuselage, wing and empennage design, stability, control, performance, component weight estimation, aerodynamics, and thrust characteristics.
• Guide students in using Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) or equivalent software for design projects.
• Provide mentorship, feedback, and assessment for team‑based design projects.

Required profile

• Teaching qualification required.
• Strong background in aerospace engineering or related discipline.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) software or equivalent design tools.
