Course Lecturer – Étude de la langue (EDSL 301)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 semester to teach EDSL 301 – Étude de la langue. The position involves delivering a three‑credit, French‑language course to pre‑service teachers, focusing on basic linguistic components and new grammar instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures, seminars, and activities for Monday and Wednesday sessions (08:35 am‑10:25 am) in the Education Building (EDUC 434).
• Develop course materials, assessments, and feedback aligned with the Quebec Education Program.
• Collaborate with a team of instructors, attending coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the course start date.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide guidance on professional competencies required by the Ministère de l’Éducation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Second Language Education or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Expert knowledge of French linguistic components, impeccable French proficiency, and familiarity with the Quebec Education Program.
• Proven experience teaching similar courses to pre‑service teachers and teaching French as a Second Language in Quebec elementary or secondary schools.
• Commitment to teamwork and ability to work on campus in Quebec.
