Course Lecturer – Elementary School Science (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) seeks a Course Lecturer to teach EDEE 270-001 – Elementary School Science during the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering a three‑credit, in‑person course to pre‑service teachers, focusing on elementary science pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and laboratory sessions on Tuesday afternoons (11:35 am‑2:25 pm) in the Education Building (EDUC 360).
• Develop and coordinate course materials, assessments, and laboratory activities.
• Manage and mentor a team of teaching assistants.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in science education (or equivalent experience with significant research or professional background).
• Education degree or equivalent and proven experience teaching elementary‑level science.
• Expert knowledge of elementary science pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the professional competencies set by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Experience teaching science within the Quebec school system and to pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and ability to coordinate teaching assistants.
