Course Lecturer – Elementary School Science (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) seeks a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach Elementary School Science (EDEE 270‑004). The position involves delivering a three‑credit, in‑person course to pre‑service teachers, focusing on elementary science pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and laboratory sessions on Fridays, 11:35 am–2:25 pm in Education Building (EDUC 360).
• Prepare course materials, assessments, and coordinate with teaching assistants.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Ensure alignment with the Quebec Ministry of Education’s professional competencies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in science education (or equivalent experience with significant research/professional background).
• Education degree or equivalent and proven experience teaching science to elementary‑aged children.
• Expert knowledge of elementary science pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the Professional Competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Experience teaching similar courses to pre‑service teachers in the Quebec school system.
• High proficiency in French and ability to teach the course in French.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
