Course Lecturer – Elementary School Science (EDEE 270-002)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach Elementary School Science (EDEE 270-002). The position involves delivering a three‑credit, in‑person course that introduces elementary science pedagogy and fundamental concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures on Thursdays from 11:35 am to 2:25 pm in the Education Building (EDUC 360).
• Design and lead laboratory sessions, coordinating teaching assistants as needed.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback to pre‑service teachers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in science education (or equivalent experience with significant research or professional background).
• Education degree or equivalent and proven experience teaching elementary‑aged science.
• Expert knowledge of elementary science pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the professional competencies set by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Experience teaching science within the Quebec school system and to pre‑service teachers.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and ability to manage teaching assistants.
