Course Lecturer – Classroom-based Evaluation (EDEE 355-001)

About the role

The Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach the Fall 2026 semester of Classroom‑based Evaluation (EDEE 355‑001). The 3‑credit course runs on Mondays from 11:35 am to 2:25 pm in the Education Building (EDUC 433) and focuses on evaluation practices in kindergarten and elementary programs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on assessment techniques, data collection, and interpretation for educational decision‑making.
• Design and grade assignments, exams, and practical activities aligned with course objectives.
• Coordinate with fellow instructors and attend planning meetings at least two weeks before the course start.
• Maintain course materials on the myCourses platform and conduct any required virtual sessions via Zoom.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) and a teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching in elementary schools, preferably within the Quebec system.
• Deep knowledge of assessment and evaluation pedagogy and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the competencies defined by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and availability for coordination meetings.
