About the role
The Institute of Parasitology at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Winter 2027 term to teach BTEC 619 – Biotechnology Laboratory 2. The role involves delivering laboratory instruction, supervising students during lab sessions, and participating in exam grading.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver laboratory instruction for BTEC 619 on Wednesdays and Thursdays (9:35 a.m. – 5:25 p.m.), totaling approximately 3 hours per week.
- Collaborate with a dedicated Course Technician who prepares and oversees the labs.
- Be available on scheduled final‑exam days and grade final examinations as part of the contract.
- Maintain a professional teaching environment in the Macdonald Stewart B‑027 laboratory.
Required profile
- Graduate degree (or Ph.D. candidate with at least three years of progress) in a scientific discipline, preferably biochemistry or a related field.
- Strong scientific background in biotechnology or biochemistry.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Proficiency in English communication, both spoken and written.
