Course Lecturer – Art Curriculum & Instruction (Elementary)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education seeks a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach EDEA 332-001/002, an introductory course on elementary art curriculum and instruction. The role involves delivering three credit hours of classroom‑oriented studio practice and theory.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures and studio sessions on visual expression, perception, and lesson planning.
• Develop and assess student assignments aligned with the Quebec Education Program.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Maintain course materials on MyCourses and support blended learning activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or exceptional equivalent experience) in Fine Arts or a related field.
• Teaching qualification and proven experience teaching art in elementary schools, preferably within the Quebec school system.
• Expert knowledge of elementary art education, the Quebec Education Program, and professional competencies mandated by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Commitment to teamwork and equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MyCourses or similar learning management systems.
• Familiarity with Zoom and other online collaboration tools.
• Ability to design and deliver blended (in‑person and online) instruction.
• Strong technology skills to support classroom activities.
