Controller – SaaS Finance Leader

About the role

This position leads the finance function for a fast‑growing SaaS organization based in downtown Toronto. Reporting to senior leadership, the Controller will oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS, and provide strategic insight into revenue recognition and global expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Lead preparation and review of financial statements, guaranteeing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Design, implement and maintain internal controls and global accounting policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors, overseeing tax compliance.
• Drive process improvement, automation and systems integration to support scaling.
• Provide strategic guidance on ASC 606 revenue recognition, subscription billing and deferred revenue.
• Lead the Accounts Receivable team to ensure timely collection of customer income.

Required profile

• Accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CA).
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in a SaaS or technology company.
• Proven expertise in global, multi‑currency consolidations.
