Controller – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Controller to join a fast‑growing food manufacturing company in Greater Vancouver. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the accounting function, drive financial strategy and support the company’s expansion across manufacturing, distribution and retail channels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a collaborative accounting team.
• Oversee full‑cycle accounting, month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close for multiple entities.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and variance analysis.
• Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation and production costing to support operations.
• Monitor cash flow, forecasting and working capital.
• Coordinate year‑end audits and assist with tax working papers.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and financial processes.
• Partner with operations, supply chain and retail leaders to provide financial insights.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives, ERP implementation and finance automation projects.
• Support new retail locations, entity onboarding and other growth initiatives.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years leading finance teams in manufacturing, food production or other inventory‑driven environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, full‑cycle accounting and cost accounting.
• Proven success delivering ERP implementations, automation or process‑improvement projects.
