Controller – Finance Leader

About the role

AG Care is seeking a Controller to lead its finance function and support the growth of its purpose‑driven Canadian brand. In this senior role you will oversee day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls while partnering closely with the VP of Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions.
• Develop, approve, and implement internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Supervise month‑end close processes and assign tasks to finance staff.
• Manage the annual year‑end financial review with external accountants.
• Direct the preparation of fiscal operational budgets and oversee the yearly standard costing process.
• Liaise with external parties on tax and regulatory matters.
• Provide leadership, performance management, and development for the finance team.
• Assist in formulating the Finance Department’s annual strategic plan.

Required profile

• CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA or equivalent) and a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance.
• Minimum five years of experience managing finance and administration functions.
• Experience in consumer‑goods, manufacturing or inventory‑based businesses is an asset.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, leadership and technical proficiency.
• Ability to work independently, motivate teams and exercise sound judgement.

• Salary range $95,000 – $125,000 CAD per year.
