Construction Operations Manager

About the role

Hydro One is seeking a Construction Operations Manager to support the Vice President of Construction in delivering safe, on‑time, and cost‑effective projects across its transmission and distribution network. This senior leader will oversee construction staff at multiple project sites within an assigned geographic area.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and supervision to construction teams on‑site.
• Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Accountable for project cost, schedule, safety, quality and environmental performance.
• Contribute to Project Execution Plans, schedules and cost estimates.
• Identify deficiencies, drive productivity improvements and reduce rework.
• Organise and coordinate resources to execute projects efficiently.
• Promote a safe work environment through training and adherence to safety procedures.
• Collaborate with employee representatives and operating staff to maintain harmonious operations and minimise disruption to existing facilities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to inspire and align teams toward common goals.
• Strong commitment to customer service and Hydro One’s E&CS objectives.
• Proven ability to monitor and control cost, schedule, safety, quality and environmental outcomes.
• Experience applying Internal Responsibility System principles and joint problem‑solving.
• Capability to manage resources across a geographic area with minimal supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant safety legislation and Hydro One safety policies.
