CONOPs and Mission Analysis System Engineer

About the role

Our client is looking for a CONOPs and Mission Analysis System Engineer to define, develop and document concepts of operations, mission scenarios and quantitative analyses for current and next‑generation earth observation and communications satellite missions. The engineer will collaborate with customers, prime contractors and internal multidisciplinary teams to translate stakeholder needs into clear, traceable operational concepts that guide system architecture and program planning.

Key responsibilities

• Capture functional, performance, environmental and security requirements and conduct workshops and trade studies to define mission needs.
• Develop and maintain CONOPs covering all mission phases, produce timelines, scenarios and flow diagrams, and perform mission modeling (orbit, coverage, link budget, resources).
• Define and manage spacecraft, payload and ground‑segment interfaces, develop verification plans, test matrices and support system integration, IVV activities and operational readiness.
• Lead trade studies, coordinate cross‑functional teams, present technical results at key reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or Physics with at least 8 years of experience in LEO/MEO mission planning and operations.
• Strong foundation in systems engineering, orbit mechanics and space environment, with hands‑on integration and troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, ability to work independently and fluently in English (French is an asset).
