Compliance and Quality Assurance Assistant

About the role

JYSK Canada is looking for a Compliance and Quality Assurance Assistant to join its quality team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role supports the Compliance Manager and Quality Manager and focuses on product integrity, regulatory alignment and legal conformity in the Canadian market. It covers incoming and ongoing shipments, including hard goods, soft goods, mattresses and seasonal items, to protect corporate liability and consumer safety. The position is based out of two locations: the Head Office in Coquitlam, BC and the Distribution Center in Pitt Meadows, BC.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that product packaging, textiles and consumer goods comply with Canadian statutory requirements.
• Maintain compliance documentation, certificates of conformity, test reports and technical data sheets.
• Take part in researching and writing product specifications.
• Carry out first article and pre-production inspections and tests on new or revised designs.
• Control and approve revisions of assembly instructions.
• Investigate store-reported issues and work on corrective and preventive actions.
• Review customer feedback and defective product reports, and help suppliers meet product specifications.
• Process defective product reports and fulfill spare parts order requests.

Required profile

• 2 years' experience in quality control and quality assurance, including product inspections in a furniture manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of post-secondary education in engineering or a diploma in quality assurance (or a related field).
• Previous experience with legal compliance frameworks is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced use of MS Office.
• Experience with measuring instruments; knowledge of materials, especially furniture, is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to handle several projects with minimal supervision.
