Compensation Consultant (Senior Associate)

About the role

Mercer's Career Consulting Team is looking for a Compensation Consultant (Senior Associate) based in Montreal. This is a hybrid position with at least three days per week spent in the office. The consultant leads research and analysis on industry and organization-specific issues such as business strategy, corporate performance, compensation and rewards practices and trends, and best practices in talent management.

Key responsibilities

• Use Marsh data, solutions, methodologies and network of experts to solve client problems and advance their workforce and rewards objectives
• Develop workforce rewards programs, including salary structures, incentive programs, job evaluation systems, pay equity and transparency programs, skills frameworks and job architectures
• Prepare client presentations, including recommendations presented to executives, senior management and HR leaders
• Support Principals and Partners in business development, contributing to proposals as required
• Contribute to internal practice development, including new solutions, intellectual capital and training and development

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Bilingualism in English and French
• Preferred: experience in management consulting, total rewards, compensation, finance, human resources or accounting
• Preferred: BComm, HBA/MBA, MIR or related degree (finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, HR and/or accounting) or equivalent work experience

Required skills

• Project management, data analysis, financial modeling and presentation design (preferred)
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and a solid background in Excel
• Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work under tight deadlines or changing client needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
