Community Engagement Manager – Data Centres (Canada)

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to serve as the on‑the‑ground presence for its data‑centre operations in Canada. You will act as the bridge between Anthropic’s policy and infrastructure teams and the local communities, ensuring the company is a trusted and valued neighbour throughout site selection, construction, and long‑term operation.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with municipal governments, provincial ministries, economic development agencies, community groups, educational institutions, and workforce partners.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each market, covering site selection, pre‑development, construction, and ongoing operations.
• Host education and listening sessions, create coalitions, and design local solutions that deliver tangible benefits.
• Represent Anthropic at public forums, town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media.
• Monitor community sentiment and political dynamics, advising internal teams on risks, opportunities, and appropriate engagement pacing.
• Partner with Real Estate and Infrastructure teams to integrate community input into project planning and delivery.
• Travel regularly within the region (up to 50% of the time) and occasionally to other data‑centre markets.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with municipal officials, provincial agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Experience developing and executing community engagement strategies across multiple project phases.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned region and to other markets as needed.
• Strong communication skills for representing Anthropic in public forums and media.
