Communications Advisor

About the role

WestJet is looking for a Communications Advisor to join its internal communications team. You will work closely with business units to develop and execute clear, transparent, and engaging messaging that supports the company’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on messaging and oversee internal communication plans aligned with broader business goals.
• Write, edit, and manage communication materials, ensuring timely distribution and coordination.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications, deliver insights on trends, and advise stakeholders on best practices.
• Implement communication strategies by creating engaging content for multiple channels.
• Support content creation for a variety of communication platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications, internal messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
• Post‑secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, business, or equivalent experience.
• Experience advising senior leaders and working with unions, change‑management initiatives, and government relations is an asset.
• Excellent writing skills, familiarity with Canadian Press style, and strong relationship‑building abilities.
