Cleanroom Technician – Sterile Compounding

About the role

Royal Drugs’ Burnaby sterile compounding facility is seeking a Cleanroom Technician to support the preparation of intravenous admixtures and other sterile products. The role involves working in a regulated cleanroom environment to ensure safe, high‑quality infusion therapy for patients receiving care at home.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in the dispensary to meet compounding demand.
• Prepare, process, dispense and compound intravenous admixtures such as antibiotics and total parenteral nutrition according to work instructions.
• Pick, inspect, verify and disinfect all components against order sheets before compounding.
• Program and verify infusion pump parameters under pharmacist supervision.
• Perform validation, calibration and microbiological monitoring of equipment.
• Assist with cleaning of equipment, totes and work surfaces to maintain cleanroom compliance.
• Participate in regular inventory counts.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a pharmacy practice setting.
• Secondary school education; additional pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Required skills

• IV experience or experience in a hospital/outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique.
• Validation, calibration and microbiological monitoring.
• Infusion pump programming.
