Hospitalist Physician – Burnaby Hospital

About the role

Fraser Health is seeking a Hospitalist Physician to join the well‑established Hospitalist Program at Burnaby Hospital. The role involves providing admission and ongoing management as the Most Responsible Physician for unattached patients, as well as supportive care for surgical, medical specialty and psychiatric patients.

Key responsibilities

• Admit and manage patients as the Most Responsible Physician.
• Provide supportive care for surgical, medical specialty and psychiatric patients.
• Participate in rotating intake shifts in the Emergency Department, evenings, weekends and night shifts.
• Contribute to committee work and administrative duties.
• Maintain continuity of care with approximately one‑third weekend coverage.

Required profile

• Strong desire and ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and allied health staff.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Collegiality, enthusiasm, flexibility and a willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
• Experience in Hospitalist work is an asset, but not required.
• Interest in quality improvement and leadership is an asset.
