Civil Estimator

About the role

The Civil Estimator will develop accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects within the Transportation market. Working from our Oakville office, you will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to deliver reliable budgets and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates for civil scopes such as highways, bridges, and mining infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Develop labour, equipment, material, and subcontract pricing using historical cost data.
• Analyze bid documents, flag risks and opportunities, and support value‑engineering sessions.
• Maintain estimating databases and contribute to continuous improvement of cost models.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of civil estimating experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating software such as InEight Estimate.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid.

• Base salary ranging from $95,000 to $120,000 CAD per year.
