Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer will join Circular Materials’ executive team to lead operational excellence across Canada’s circular economy initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will shape strategy, drive growth, and ensure high‑performance service delivery in a complex regulatory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee national collection and post‑collection services, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead enterprise transformation initiatives, integrating technology, data analytics, and innovative solutions to enhance decision‑making and outcomes.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with producers, regulators, municipalities, service providers, and industry partners.
• Develop and execute operational strategies that support organizational growth and sustainability objectives.
• Provide strategic guidance to the Board of Directors and executive leadership on operational performance and risk management.

Required profile

• Proven executive experience leading large‑scale operations in regulated, multi‑stakeholder environments such as infrastructure, utilities, logistics or environmental services.
• Demonstrated ability to build high‑performing teams, drive organizational transformation, and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.
• Strong business judgment, collaborative leadership style, and capacity to operate at both executive and Board levels.
