Casual Personal Support Worker – Groves Memorial Community Hospital

About the role

The Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a casual Personal Support Worker to join its interdisciplinary team. You will provide direct patient care, ensuring safety, dignity, and comfort while supporting the broader clinical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care including hygiene, grooming, dressing, nutrition, and use of adaptive aids.
• Observe, assess, and report changes in patient behavior and condition.
• Escort patients to diagnostic tests and assist with special needs.
• Collect and document patient information such as height, weight, and care provided.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow infection control and medical asepsis protocols.

Required profile

• Successful completion of an approved Personal Support Worker (PSW) diploma or certification.
• Current CPR (Heart Saver Level) and Standard First Aid certification.
• One to two years of related experience in a health‑care setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of universal precautions.
