Business Development Manager – Consumer Packaged Goods

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive profitable growth for a leading consumer goods company by managing and expanding key sales accounts in the grocery and mass‑merchandise channels. You will build strong relationships with customers, develop tailored sales plans, and collaborate across functions to achieve revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with key contacts at Metro, Food Basics and other major retailers.
• Create, negotiate and implement customized sales plans for each customer and monitor progress.
• Achieve sales budgets for each account, tracking case volume and cost‑of‑sales.
• Manage all financial aspects of the account portfolio, including credit and accounts receivable.
• Serve as the primary liaison for supply‑chain and logistics issues.
• Communicate marketing and trade‑marketing initiatives to customers in a timely manner.
• Prepare and submit required reports promptly.
• Partner with the Category Development team to leverage brand promotion opportunities.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of sales experience in grocery, mass‑merchandise, club store or drug retail environments.
• Post‑secondary degree from a university or college.
• Strong organization, negotiation and sales skills with high attention to detail.
• Professional ethics and a genuine passion for sales.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset.
