Barista – Specialty Coffee (Part‑time)

About the role

Equator Coffee Centrum is looking for a passionate Barista to craft high‑quality espresso‑based drinks and non‑coffee beverages while upholding the company’s specialty coffee standards. The role combines precise beverage preparation, customer engagement and maintaining a clean, welcoming café environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality espresso‑based and non‑coffee beverages while maintaining precise brewing standards.
• Calibrate grinders each shift and adjust dosing according to Equator’s specialty coffee standards.
• Execute seasonal recipes, create latte art (hearts, tulips, rosettas) and ensure consistent milk texture.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow hygiene and equipment‑maintenance procedures.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service, explain menu differences and engage customers to build community.

Required profile

• At least 1 year experience as a barista in a specialty‑coffee environment.
• Passion for coffee with the ability to taste and calibrate espresso throughout the shift.
• Availability for a minimum of two shifts per week, including weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with on‑call duties.
• Strong teamwork, communication and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Latte art proficiency.
• Espresso machine operation and troubleshooting.
• Grinder calibration and dosing.
• Milk texturing and steaming techniques.
• Knowledge of coffee origins and bean varieties.
