Barista

About the role

Second Cup is looking for a friendly and reliable barista to join its Nepean location. You will work in a fast‑paced coffee shop environment, serving customers and preparing simple food items while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Take customer orders, serve at counters or buffet tables, and handle take‑out packaging.
• Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items; portion and wrap foods.
• Sanitize and wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, and appliances.
• Stock refrigerators, salad bars, and replenish condiments at tables.
• Sweep, mop, and polish floors; remove kitchen garbage and trash.

Required profile

• Client‑focused with a positive attitude.
• Reliable team player able to multitask under pressure.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Attention to detail and initiative in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
• Perform kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning procedures.
