Baker – Floatel Vessel (Rotational)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Baker to join our floatel crew aboard MV Saga X, operating out of Squamish, BC. The position is full‑time on a rotational schedule (28 days on, 14 days off) and offers a dynamic marine hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and manage bakery, pastry buffet and Grab‑n‑Go preparation and service according to the menu.
• Prepare a work checklist and set up the workstation for each shift.
• Perform basic cleaning duties and ensure workstations are properly sanitized.
• Maintain chiller and temperature records and care for equipment such as dough machines, sheeters, proofer, ovens and fryers.
• Requisition food with Chef approval and tag each prepared item with product name and date.
• Accommodate urgent requests from the Chef and prioritize tasks throughout the day.
• Wear required PPE, communicate effectively with coworkers, and contribute to team goals.
• Prepare hand‑over notes for the incoming crew and maintain high personal hygiene while on board.

Required profile

• Culinary diploma or related training preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation and presentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to ensure compliance.
• Team‑oriented mindset.
• Valid MED Domestic Vessel Safety certificate, Crowd and Crisis Management certificate, and marine medical certificate (employer will support).
