Associate/Full Professor (Clinical) & Division Director – Pediatric Surgery

About the role

The Department of Pediatric Surgery at McGill University seeks a full‑time academic leader to serve as Associate or Full Professor (Clinical) and Director of the Harvey E. Beardmore Division of General Surgery. This three‑year, renewable appointment will combine a busy tertiary clinical practice with extensive teaching and research responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Harvey E. Beardmore Division, overseeing clinical services, education programs, and research initiatives.
• Provide high‑quality surgical care for a broad range of pediatric conditions.
• Develop and deliver undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education curricula.
• Mentor trainees, fellows, and junior faculty in surgical techniques and academic development.
• Promote and conduct outcomes research, global surgery projects, and multidisciplinary collaborations.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD) with board certification in pediatric surgery.
• Significant experience in academic surgery, including leadership or administrative roles.
• Strong record of scholarly activity, grant acquisition and peer‑reviewed publications.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration.
