Associate Student Recruiter & Advisor

About the role

The Associate Student Recruiter & Advisor supports UBC’s strategic recruitment and advising initiatives for secondary and post‑secondary students across Canada. Based on the Okanagan campus, the role combines outreach, presentation, and guidance to help prospective students navigate admission requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver recruitment presentations to high‑school and college audiences, both in small groups and large settings, using multimedia and printed collateral.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organisations, parents, counsellors, and educational advocates.
• Advise prospective students on UBC admission criteria, program requirements, and the application process for undergraduate programs on both campuses.
• Promote Indigenous peoples’ rights and UBC’s reconciliation commitments, supporting historically underserved and marginalized groups.
• Collaborate with Student Recruitment & Advising leadership, enrolment services staff, and on‑campus units such as First Nations House of Learning and the Centre for Accessibility.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UBC undergraduate admission standards and program prerequisites.
• Excellent communication and public‑speaking abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Ability to travel to secondary schools and colleges within British Columbia.
