About the role
The Department of General Management & Human Resources at Mount Royal University seeks a one‑year limited‑term Assistant Professor in Human Resources, beginning August 15, 2026. This internal posting is open only to current MRU employees and supports the BBA Human Resources program.
Key responsibilities
- Teach core HR courses such as Introduction to Human Resources, Transition Management, Compensation and Benefits, Organizational Learning, and Organizational Development.
- Deliver six 3‑credit courses per year on the teaching/scholarship/service (TSS) pattern or eight 3‑credit courses on the teaching/service (TS) pattern.
- Engage in scholarly research (TSS pattern) and contribute to departmental service activities.
- Participate in curriculum development and student advising.
Required profile
- Current MRU employee status.
- Relevant academic credentials (e.g., Ph.D. or equivalent) in Human Resources or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching ability in undergraduate HR subjects.
- Commitment to the university’s teaching and service mission.
