Assistant Manager – Restaurant Operations

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our restaurant in Simcoe, ON. This full‑time, on‑site position will support the daily operations of our Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s location and help deliver a memorable guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house staff to maintain brand standards.
• Train new team members and provide ongoing mentorship.
• Monitor inventory levels, schedule staff, and oversee budgeting and financial targets.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Support marketing and promotional initiatives.
• Ensure safety, hygiene and regulatory compliance throughout the restaurant.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and varying shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or food‑safety certifications are a plus.
