Assistant General Manager – Montreal Hotel

About the role

The respected hospitality group is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead daily operations at a busy hotel in Montreal. This hands‑on position is ideal for an organized, service‑driven professional who enjoys mentoring teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence on the floor, supporting Front Desk and other teams throughout the day.
• Deliver prompt, professional guest service and resolve special requests or concerns.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate Front Desk staff to achieve service excellence.
• Oversee reservations, billing, loyalty programs, and guest‑satisfaction tools.
• Ensure compliance with brand policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Prepare work schedules, respond to employee needs, and support staffing requirements.
• Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance vendors and monitor inventory for guest areas.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• Prior experience as an Assistant General Manager or Front Office Manager in a hotel.
• Strong hands‑on expertise supporting Front Desk operations.
• Proven leadership with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high service standards.
• Professional communication, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Flexibility to work weekends or shifts based on operational needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel systems and booking platforms.
• Experience with property management systems and operational software such as Medallia, Guest Relations, Expedia, and Booking.com.

What we offer

• Base salary $65,000–$75,000 CAD per year.
• $50 per month phone allowance.
