About the role

Join Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team to build the next generation of in‑vehicle infotainment experiences. You will work on Android applications that power voice‑driven features and embedded AI capabilities for electric vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise Android apps and services for in‑vehicle infotainment platforms.
• Create voice‑driven features that combine speech, audio, conversational AI and workflow automation.
• Work with Android audio pipelines, including focus, capture, routing and low‑latency behaviour.
• Integrate and optimise on‑device or hybrid AI/SLM capabilities for vehicle experiences.
• Design modern, maintainable app architectures using current Android best practices.
• Collaborate with product, UX, platform, systems and AI teams to deliver intuitive voice experiences.
• Debug complex issues across app, framework, audio, connectivity and embedded environments.
• Help define technical direction, engineering standards and scalable patterns for future capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field (proof of education required).
• 5+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience with the Android audio subsystem.
• Demonstrated experience with clean architecture, modularisation, testing, observability, CI/CD and performance optimisation.
• Understanding of embedded AI, on‑device inference and small language models.
