Application Developer

About the role

Underwater Robotics Ltd. is seeking an Application Developer to build and maintain the software infrastructure for its autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems. The position starts as part‑time during the early development phase, with the possibility of moving to a full‑time role as the team grows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software that controls AUV operations.
• Integrate software components with AI models, sensors, and vehicle hardware.
• Create and optimise data‑processing and operational workflows.
• Support mission monitoring, reporting, and system testing.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software and integration issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and version control using Git.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong programming ability in Python, C++ and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with APIs, databases, backend systems and Git.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across AI, robotics and leadership teams.
