Application Developer (IT Services)

About the role

The Application Developer joins Simon Fraser University's IT Services – Administrative Technical Solutions team to design, develop, and integrate software solutions that serve large segments of the university community. You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust applications and services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and integrate commercial, locally built, and open‑source software packages.
• Elicit, analyze, and validate business objectives and processes for software projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to ensure solutions meet functional and technical requirements.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications to improve efficiency and user experience.
• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the software lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computing Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in application development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
