Android Lead Developer (Remote)

About the role

Litmus7 is looking for a highly skilled Android Lead Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications for its clients. This remote position offers the chance to work closely with cross‑functional teams and guide technical direction across multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain high‑quality, scalable, and reusable Android applications aligned with business requirements.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, backend developers, and client stakeholders to integrate user‑facing features and services.
• Write clean, maintainable code, perform unit testing, debugging, and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other inefficiencies.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices across the team.
• Document customer communications, development processes, codebase, and APIs.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest Android development trends, frameworks, and tools.

Required profile

• 12+ years of professional Android development experience, including team leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments and guiding best‑practice adoption.

Required skills

• Kotlin (including Coroutines) and XML layouts.
• Jetpack Compose and Android JetPack components (WorkManager, Navigation, Fragment, etc.).
• Code assistants such as Claude or equivalent.
• Unit testing and UI automation tools (MockK, JUnit 5, Robolectric).
• Firebase and other cloud/analytics platforms.
• Architectures: MVVM, MVI.
• RESTful and GraphQL API integration.
• Popular libraries: Retrofit, OkHttp, Dagger 2, Hilt.
• Gradle/Kotlin DSL for building apps and libraries.
• Publishing apps to Google Play Store.
