Advanced Manufacturing / Materials Process Engineer

About the role

APEX is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing / Materials Process Engineer to join its Aerospace Component Manufacturing Group. The role will support R&D initiatives aimed at advancing aerospace manufacturing processes, improving robustness and consistency of special processing operations, and delivering data‑driven improvements for commercial and defense programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute controlled manufacturing and process experiments, focusing on aerospace surface treatments, anodizing, and corrosion behavior.
• Analyze metallurgical and surface‑condition test results, support failure analysis, root‑cause investigations, and process troubleshooting.
• Develop, optimize, and validate special processing procedures and controls, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
• Coordinate activities with accredited testing laboratories and external technical partners, reviewing technical reports and specifications.
• Contribute to long‑term operational improvement initiatives, data analysis tools, and strategic technology development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience working in a regulated aerospace environment and familiarity with special processing operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret experimental data and translate findings into process improvements.
